Frederick East Classical does not offer a la carte classes in grades K-7th. However, we will allow students to attend math and science classes a la carte between 8th and 12th grade. We offer the following math:
Pre-Algebra
Algebra 1
Solid Algebra skills are a must for future Geometry and Algebra 2 classes. The "Concepts and Skills' text, edited by Larson provides these fundamental building blocks.
Geometry
Geometry focuses on the logic of putting proofs together and also teaches fundamental trigonometry and skills needed for Algebra 2 and beyond.
Algebra 2
This is a necessary math in order for students to be prepared for college mathematics placement exams.
High School Science can also be taken a la carte and we will be offering the following sciences:
Biology:
The Prentice Hall Biology Text is used for this course. There will be lecture, project learning and learning through dissection. Students will have homework outside of the Monday and Wednesday classroom learning. This class offers a 'Science Credit' for high school.
Chemistry
Students will learn through lectures and class experiments. Homework will be assigned each week outside of the Monday and Wednesday classroom learning. The Chemistry class can be counted for a 'Science Credit' for high school.
Anatomy and Physiology plus Health
Students will not only learn the anatomy and physiology, but will learn how to keep the body healthy. This class is not only learning information, but also learning life-long skills for whole-body health. This class also offers a 'Science Credit' for high school.
All classes are $650.00 for the year (M and W instruction and homework assigned and graded by instructor.
