Ecumenical Environment
Catholics and Protestants will come together to serve Christ together in teaching our children. Many children that complete such an education in an ecumenical nature have spoken of being challenged to study their own faith so that they can speak more clearly to friends and teachers about what they believe. Since the Reformation, Catholics and Protestants are often at odds. Small groups, such as religious based cooperatives are leading the way in coming together for this mission. Instead of division, there is beauty in focusing on Jesus and seeking truth, beauty and goodness. We also seek to serve together in helping our neighborhoods, speaking up for the unborn and serving those less fortunate.
You will see in the sample of classes that there is no Bible class offered. We believe that families should spear-head teaching Bible and Doctrine to their own children. In addition, most churches and parishes will offer religious education.
One expectation that we do have for any family interested in our co-op is that the family will be involved in a local church or parish. A statement of faith will also be made available.
As a way to create balance within the community, we seek to have a balance of Catholic and Protestant members on our board of directors.
