Frederick East Classical, Inc. is a 2-day, Christian, classical 'hybrid' homeschool cooperative, meeting in Walkersville, Maryland (Frederick County). This program is designed to assist parents in the homeschooling of their children by providing academic instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays and guidelines for homework on the 'off' days. Classes offered include Grammar, Writing, Science, History, Latin, Literature, Math and even elective subjects. These classes are small and teachers are well-trained, both of which serve to provide an excellent classroom experience.
Now Meeting at St. Paul's Lutheran
Frederick East moved into our 'new' facility in September 2019. We have been welcomed with OPEN ARMS and are enjoying the 12 classroom spaces in the MAIN Building and 4 spaces in the PARISH HALL. This new 'campus' is at 14 W. Pennsylvania Ave. (intersection of Fulton) and includes the two buildings, a grassy area for play, a wonderful driveway for car lines and room to store teacher resources. For a 'virtual tour' of the facility, scroll down!
Frederick East is a 501 c 3 organization and we welcome your donations of time and money. In addition, we are a seller 'store' on Amazon and would be happy to take donations of books to sell in our store. Please contact us at email@example.com if you have questions about book donations.
We are Christian
We seek to glorify God in all that we do in the classroom and in the ways we love and care for one another. God has designed us to marvel at His creation and a classical education will cause us to 'listen for the Maker's voice.'
We are Classical
We use the classical model of education that joins us in conversation with philosophers and authors of old. We learn from them, asking questions and seeking to better know our purposes in this vast creation
We are a 'cooperative'
We work together to provide this education for our children. Parents are asked to contribute several hours each week though time (teaching, administrating, assisting) or monetarily. Many hands make light work!.
